Are discounted software subscriptions safe? What to check before you buy
Updated 5 September 2026 · 6 min read
Search for a cheap subscription to almost any major tool and you'll find dozens of sellers at wildly different prices. Some are supplying genuine licences. Some are reselling a login that fifty other people are also using. Telling them apart is straightforward once you know what to ask.
This guide is written by a reseller, so read it sceptically — but every check below is one you can apply to us as easily as to anyone else.
The three things being sold
| What you get | How it behaves | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine licence on your own account | Exactly like buying direct | Low |
| Shared account login | Works until someone changes the password | High |
| Cracked or keygen software | Breaks on update; often bundled malware | Severe |
Ask these five questions
- Will it be activated on my own account, or do you send me a login? Only the first is safe.
- Does my existing data, workspace and history stay intact? It should.
- What happens if it stops working next week? There should be a stated replacement window.
- Can I contact a real person before paying? Silence before the sale means silence after it.
- How long has the seller been reachable at the same contact details?
Warning signs
- 'Lifetime access' to a product that is only sold as a subscription.
- A login and password sent to you instead of an activation on your account.
- Prices at a tiny fraction of retail with no explanation of the supply route.
- Payment demanded in crypto only, with no other option.
- No stated policy on what happens if the licence fails.
What safe delivery looks like
You send the email address on your own account. The seller applies the subscription to it. You log in as normal, see the upgraded plan, and keep every file, preset and setting you already had. Nothing about your day-to-day use changes except the plan badge.
That's how we deliver — genuine licences activated on your own account, typically within an hour, worldwide, with a 48-hour replacement guarantee and a real person on WhatsApp before and after the sale.
If something goes wrong
With a genuine licence, a failure is a supply problem and a good seller replaces it. With a shared login, there's nothing to replace — which is exactly why the distinction matters more than the price difference. Read our refund and replacement policy before ordering so you know precisely where you stand.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are reseller prices lower than buying direct?
- Volume and regional supply. A reseller buying in bulk pays less per licence than an individual buying one, and passes part of that on. It is not the same as a cracked or shared product.
- Can my account get banned?
- A genuine licence applied to your own account carries the same standing as buying direct. Shared logins are what get flagged, because providers detect many people using one account at once.
- What guarantee do you offer?
- If a licence fails to activate or stops working within 48 hours of delivery, we replace it. Full details are on our refund and replacement policy page.
- How do I check a seller is real before paying?
- Message them first with a specific question and see how they answer. Genuine sellers explain how activation works without being pushed; resellers of shared logins avoid the question.
